It is the new year of 2006, so let’s load up the big guns!!!

KONNICHIWA AND A MOST HAPPIEST NEW YEAR to all of you, and welcome to the official pages of Frantic Journey (FJ)!!  ^-^  First of all, I am now planning something truly special with developing this game, now that word of a *new* FreeBASIC 8-bit game library called AFlib2 - Aura Flow Library 2 is already hitting the QB45/QB71/FreeBASIC scene and then plenty, so it should be some rather exciting stuff going on now!!!  ^-^=b !

You know, one of the very reasons why I am developing AFlib2 (and even releasing the lib to you once I get all done on it, too!) is because I am PLAIN well planning on using it as a main and even better base for developing FJ in FreeBASIC itself, and I want to make certain that this game has the features that once made the QB demo of it such a smashing success with the QB45/QB71 community, plus a ton more!!!

And to help celebrate this new year here, I WILL return to developing this game once I get done of the first version of AFlib2, but this time, FJ is gonna get entirely reprogrammed with a whole brand new game/weapons design that I am not even gonna reveal to you yet, all while maintaining the 2D horizontal side-scrolling shmup theme here!  Stay tuned and see.  ^_-

To recap the progress of this long-running project so far, the “Mode Select” screen is already in place, as well as the simulated ram-rom check (so far; see pictures #1 and #2, please)!!  And, I surely am gonna customize this shmup to be very challenging and even as TRULY manic as ever.  But also, I am to make this game really fair and as more fresh and exciting to play as ever so that it is used and designed to be a blessing to you and to the shmup fans alike as well.  FOR REAL.  (^-^)v

Let’s reminisce a little bit here, shall we?  On the night of June 2, 2005, I have already customized and prepared a brand-new custom scalable font routine (ala RelLib!!), so take a look at it right here!

A day later (June 3, 2005), Jofers of the QB45/QB71/FB community did such an outstanding job in showing me how to work the pointers for the enemies and their movements much better!!  :D !  Look right here for this following example!  Believe me, it will SURE come in rather handy for me later on.  (^_-)v

And on Saturday, June 11, 2005, I have faithfully re-created one of my original fonts for this game from 2002 (without the use of PP256 at all!), only this time, it will be an extended character set, with custom scaling, italicization (once again, ala RelLib!!  ^-^ ), custom gamma effects in 8-bit mode, and, CUSTOM COLORS!!!  Feast your eyes on these next screenshots here, here, here, and right here as well!!! :D !

You know what, we are doing as plain best as ever to make this shmup as SO ROCKING VERY INTENSE as ever, in such *amazingly massive* numbers of both enemies and bullets!!!  You can absolutely flat bet that we are gonna do it!!!  d=^_^=b

Speaking of which, if you can view the best of these following shots (#3 and #4 here) from the QB demo version of this game, then you will know exactly what we are talking about.  Period, end.

And as for these next two developmental shots (here and here) of the progress in FJ over quite a number of months back in QB, they will definitely be transferred over into FB as well much easily and more using AFlib2, the ultimate FB game lib to be used for this game!!!  (^-^)//

You know what, praise God for Him enabling and inspiring me to do all of that (as well as developing AFlib2 - Aura Flow Library 2!!), and yes, the development of QB Shooting-Game Project “FRANTIC JOURNEY” is BLASTING OFF ONCE AGAIN in FreeBASIC!!!  You ready now or what?  ^_-=b !

A *most handsomely* splendid 2006 to you all indeed as this ambitious shmup project elegantly sets cosmic sail again into the vast beyond!!!
